Google retired Interview Warmup. Here is what actually replaces it.

Warmup was free, ungraded practice: you spoke an answer, it gave you a transcript and told you which job-related terms you used. It was useful, it was never a live assistant, and it is no longer available. Those are two different jobs, and replacing it properly means being clear about which one you need.

Google’s Interview Warmup page now redirects to a general interview-preparation article. Checked 2026-10-31.

Two different jobs

Practising alone and being helped live are not the same purchase.

What each need costs to solve after Interview Warmup was retired
What you want Free way to get it Where WhileHired fits
Rehearse an answer out loud, alone Any voice recorder and a list of questions. Warmup’s transcript feedback was nice; it was never graded, so a recording you listen back to does most of the same job. Recall does this after a real interview: the questions asked, your answers, and what to tighten. It is not a rehearsal tool before one.
See which job-related terms you actually used Warmup counted keywords in your transcript. A note with five terms from the job description does the same thing by hand. Not offered. We would rather say so than bolt on a keyword counter to look complete.
Help inside a live interview Nothing free does this. It is the reason the category exists and the reason it is paid. This is the whole product: a glance line from your resume, about a second after the question, excluded from screen shares.
Practise with a human who has interviewed before Peers, a mentor, or a paid mock from a platform like interviewing.io. Not offered. A mock you pay ₹179+ for is a different purchase to a ₹1,079 pack of live hours.

If your honest answer is the first row, do not buy this. A recorder and five questions from the job description will take you further than a subscription you forget to cancel.

Where a live assistant fits

The gap Warmup never covered.

Practice happens before the interview, when you have time to think. The failure happens during it, in the four seconds after a question you did not prepare for.

That is the only thing WhileHired sells: one glance line built from the resume you actually sent, on a window that stays out of screen shares. ₹1,079 for 3 hours, GST included, and 30 minutes free before you decide.

Is Google Interview Warmup still available?

No. Google retired Interview Warmup in 2026 and its page now redirects to a general interview-preparation article. We last checked this on 2026-10-31.

Anything that still calls itself a Warmup replacement is a new product, not the old one restarted.

Is WhileHired a free Interview Warmup alternative?

Partly. The first 30 minutes are free and no card is required, but the product is a paid desktop assistant for live interviews, starting at ₹1,079 for 3 hours.

It does not do Warmup’s job of letting you rehearse alone for free. If that is all you need, a voice recorder is genuinely enough.

What is the closest free replacement for the practice part?

Record yourself answering five questions from the job description, listen back once, and cut the answer to one line plus three beats. That is the mechanism Warmup encouraged, and it costs nothing.

Interviewing with peers, or a placement cell mock, adds the pressure a recording cannot.

Thirty minutes are free and need no card. If the Cue helps in a real round, ₹1,079 buys 3 hours that never expire.
