FAQ
Questions we would ask before installing something that hears an interview.
21 answers, grouped. If one of them is evasive, that is a bug — tell us and we will rewrite it.
The product
What it is, and what it is not.
Will the interviewer see it on my screen?
On Windows, not in a screen share. The Cue window is excluded from capture at the operating-system level, so shares and recordings made with Teams, Meet, Zoom and the platform capture APIs do not contain it.
macOS is still in validation and is not sold yet. We will publish the exact capture tools it is verified against before a macOS download exists.
That is scoped honestly: it is window-level capture exclusion, not invisibility. It cannot hide from a phone camera pointed at your screen.
Is this just a ChatGPT wrapper?
No. Answers are generated server-side from your Brief, which is the resume and job description you supplied. Every claim is checked against that material before it is shown. If the evidence is not there, the Cue says so instead of inventing it.
The prompt, the provider key and the entitlement check all live on our backend. None of it ships inside the app you install.
Does it record my interview?
Audio is streamed for transcription and is not stored. Transcript text is kept only if Recall is on, and you can delete a Thread at any time.
There is no audio file on your disk, no recording in our storage, and no transcript in our logs.
Is using this allowed?
That is between you and the company interviewing you. Some employers prohibit assistance tools; many do not. WhileHired is a preparation and delivery aid, not a way to fake experience. Every answer is grounded in your real resume.
We do not market it as undetectable, and we will not pretend the question is settled for you.
What exactly does WhileHired do?
It listens to the interview you are already in, recognises when a question has been asked, and shows a short, resume-grounded answer on a floating panel called the Cue.
It does not join your call, does not speak for you, and does not send anything to the interviewer.
Which interview formats does it handle?
Anything where the interviewer’s voice reaches your speakers or headset: video calls, phone screens on speaker, and in-person rounds with the phone on the table.
Coding rounds where the question appears only on screen are a later release. We would rather not ship a half-working screen reader.
What happens if my connection drops?
The Cue shows Reconnecting, keeps buffering the transcript locally, and resumes where it stopped. It will not silently claim to be listening while it is not.
If the provider stays down, the Cue tells you what failed and what to do. It never fails quietly.
Do I need a special microphone?
No. It uses the microphone you already have. A headset is recommended because it keeps the interviewer’s voice clean and yours out of the transcription.
Can it help with the question I blank on?
Yes, that is exactly the shape of question it is built for: the one you did not rehearse and the one the room gets quiet for.
It does not magic an answer out of thin air. It turns your resume and the job description into the shortest honest version of the answer you actually know.
Technical
Machines, networks, and what it costs the computer.
Which operating systems are supported?
Windows 10 (21H2 or newer) and Windows 11 on 64-bit Intel or ARM. Windows on ARM is not yet validated.
macOS is in validation. There is no macOS download yet, and we will not publish one until its capture exclusion has been verified on real hardware.
Does it work on macOS?
Not yet. macOS support is in validation, and we are not selling it until we can state exactly which capture tools the Cue is excluded from on each macOS version.
Windows is available today, and the Cue behaves there as described: it floats above the call and is excluded from screen shares and recordings.
How much CPU and memory does it use?
Roughly one browser tab: under 250 MB resident and under 4% of a modern four-core CPU while listening. Audio is resampled and streamed; it is not processed locally by a language model.
Does it work behind a corporate proxy?
HTTPS and WSS over 443 only. If your network intercepts TLS, the app will report a connection error rather than quietly degrade.
Money
Pricing, GST and refunds.
What does it cost?
Standard is ₹1,079 for 3 hours of live interview help. Pro is ₹1,799 for 7 hours. Pro Max is ₹2,699 for 12 hours. The Month Pass is ₹3,499 for 30 days with no hour ceiling.
Those are one-time prices with 18% GST included. There is no subscription and no charge per answer.
What exactly is the Month Pass?
It is one payment for 30 days of unlimited live interview help, for a search that is happening right now rather than over a season.
It expires on its own after the 30 days. It does not renew, there is no card on file after checkout, and nothing charges you at the end. It is a pass, not a subscription.
Is GST extra at checkout?
No. The price you see is the price you pay. The GST component is already inside the ₹1,079, ₹1,799, ₹2,699 and ₹3,499.
You can download a GST invoice from your account after purchase. We do not add a surprise line item at payment.
Do my hours expire?
No. Hours from a pack stay in your account until you use them, including across multiple job searches.
Two things are time-boxed and both are stated on the card: the free allowance, which is 30 minutes a day and does not roll over, and the Month Pass, which covers 30 days of unlimited help from the day you buy it.
Is there a free trial?
Yes, and it renews every day. Every account gets 30 free minutes a day, delivered as three sessions of up to 10 minutes with a 10-minute break between them. No card is required.
Unused minutes do not carry over: if you use 5 of your 30 today, you start tomorrow with 30 again. When the day’s minutes run out, the Cue stops. It does not silently move you onto a paid plan.
Paid minutes follow the same session rhythm: up to 10 minutes at a time, then a 10-minute break.
What payment methods do you accept?
UPI, credit cards, debit cards and net banking through Razorpay. Prices are in Indian rupees and charged in Indian rupees.
Can I upgrade or buy more hours later?
Yes. Buy another pack at any time; the new minutes are added to your balance. Unused hours from the earlier pack stay exactly where they are.
Do you offer refunds?
Packs are one-time purchases, so there is nothing to cancel. If the app cannot run on a supported Windows machine and our support team cannot fix it, contact us and we will make it right under the Terms.
Referral commissions are reversed if the underlying purchase is refunded.
Still unanswered?
